YOU CAN SIT ON IT




“You Can Sit on It”, 2021 serves as a tribute to Los Angeles. It is a chair that penetrates popular lifestyle trends: Botox, a car, lips, an underwear-clad butt, among other things. Tethering on the line of grotesque, the piece represents a sexual awakening and a deep-dive into tactility, clichées, and the bling aesthetics of the LA scene that embraced Dabbah. The artist sourced the chair from an upholstery shop in Burbank and it is clad in her signature style textile, and yes, you really can sit on it.
